Ouch! Interesting site and good looking scabbard, but costs almost as much as my chain saw.

Interesting product -- dunno 'bout that price tag, though.

It does provide a little food for thought. Gives me an idea or two on making something similar for my tractor, but is it really a good idea to bounce your chainsaw around supported only by the blade? Or have I missed something here?

That looks very promising. A good Stihl or Husky is in the $350-700 range. A secure holder like that would be good insurance.

Hardest part, is where could it go on one of these compact tractors...

Ditto...seems like they're reachin' a little high with that price!
PVC supposedly is heat-formable. ...Thinkin' about heating/flattening a length of 3" to make a rigid scabbard. What do you think?

Richard,
Looks like a good idea, but for me the only place I could install a scabbard would be on the ROPS.

One of my many winter project are to make a junk box for my Kubota, which I can install also remove.
This junk box will hold chains come long chain saw plus gas and oil also themos of coffee /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif etc..

If anyone has ideas I would be most interested.

Thomas,
An idea I had was to build a bracket to mount at the back (implement) end of your 3 pt hitch side arms and top link. it would have a flat surface extending over the implement with a box mounted securely on it. The box in mind (I have two of them) is an equipment box I bought at WalMart for 35 bucks. The benefit is that it would add weight to the rear for FEL work, would allow any implement to be mounted, always be on hand, but the down side would be the bouncing that it would take, which I think could be overcome with hook'n'loop (velcro) tape inside to securely mount most items. The box is lockable.
This is just a thought I had rattling around in my head, but now I have no place to use such an item. Talk about tractor safety! No tractor, totally safe.(

Harv, Loggers carry their saws with the bar over their shoulder all day long, supported only by holding the front of the bar.

New idea to add to an old thread. This is a chainsaw scabbard for ATV's sold by http://www.cabelas.com part#52-0273. Looks like it could be easily adapted to use on a tractor.
