Chain shorteners

I'm looking for a neat little device that you could slip a chain into to shorten the length. It looked like a climbers figure 8, but the chain would lay in it. I thought it was from awdirect.com but I have not be able to find it.

Basically, I'm trying to adjust the lenght of my chain in the middle rather than the ends.

How about two grab hooks with about three links between them?

I like those other products thanks for the recommendations. Here's what I was thinking of http://tinyurl.com/4spn3 but this is not going to allow me to shorten a chain with hooks on both ends.

Cheap & simple. I painted it orange so it will be easier to find when I drop it.

Cheap and simple is right. Compared to what they charge for the ones factory made. I couldn't believe those prices. I like your idea much better.

That's a great idea, so I went out and got me two hooks and a chain link. Thanks for the idea.

Folded to fit in the tool box. I originally put the two hooks together with a longer pin without the link, but they didn't fold together.
