Just curious on where you stow away your chains on your tractors?

I had a JD 850 without a loader and I just wrapped the 20' or so chain around the front weight holder. Seemed to hold well and never had a problem with it there in the 7 or so years that i had the tractor. The new 4310 has a loader and it rests on the front weight holder so I can't store it there. I can't seem to find a good place to keep it at so i was just wondering what everyone else was doing.

Thanks

I have a golf bag strapped to the right loader pedestal to carry two 12 ft chains. Their hooks are hooked over the top lip of the bag. The chains are mostly used to lift objects (photo) with the loader.

This old photo shows my original use of the bag - to take along a cordless reciprocal saw for pruning.

Related - Photo - I lashed another golf bag to the ROPS in back to carry shovels, bow saw, long handle pruner. I use this a lot.

I keep mine in my ballast box since 99% of the time that's mounted when using the FEL.

I don't normally carry chains unless I have a specific need for them. But when I do, ther're either in the ballast box or in the loader bucket (choked to the bucket hooks....more often in the ballast box though.
If I do need to tow something, I most often rig the chain to a clevis on the draw bar. It's easy to raise the ballast box high enough to ensure no interference.

I carry a strap and clevis coiled under my seat as standard equipment. Chains go on the floor or draped over hooks on ballast when it looks like I may need them.
