I have searched the forums looking for a better way to carry a chainsaw on the tractor. I have a FEL and a carryall but have any of you came up with a way to carry your saw in some kind of a holder on the tractor? Please post if you do, I'm always afraid that I'll forget the saw is in the FEL and the carryall works great until I fill it with wood. Thanks in advance.

I faced the excact same dilemna. My cousing and I made a carrier that is bolted on the side of my loader. It is bolted on the vertical part of the loader supports right in front of the foot platform .We made a metal box for both sides that you can carry chains/tools etc in it and on one box we made a metal strap that is attatched to the box that the chainsaw bar slides through.I wish I had some pictures to post of it.

Some of the loaders have a cross piece between the uprights. I've been thinking about clamping a tray onto the bar with hold-downs for a saw.

You may want to look for somthing that is used for ATVs. They seem to have a lot of good attachment ideas too.

This is a 6x6" sq tube with bottom, bolted to the side of my loader. Set in a wooden scabbard for the chain saw to go in and you are ready to roll.

Neal I like it. It's simple in design yet looks like it would afford your saw with very good protection. I'm also thinking that the same 6 X 6 tube might also work double duty to hold a couple of chains when you don't need the saw.

I'm printing and filing your idea for duplication at a later time. Thanks for the ideas......

I put a couple two foot long pieces of 4 inch PVC pipe in the rear corners of my ballast box prior to filling the box with old weightlifting plates and gravel. They are just right for holding a chainsaw, a pry bar, an axe and other things I want with me in the woods. I seldomly carry a chain saw when I have the BB or back hoe installed.

Be sure to positon the placement of the chain saw holder so that the 3PT lower link does not come in contact with the blade when you raise the link.

Exactly what I wanted to know, thank you very much fellas. I built one at work yesterday out of 6 X 3" aluminum and UHMW for the chain protector. I'm going to mount on the FEL frame. Thanks again, I'll post some pictures when I get it mounted.
