Chainsaw holder, Kubota 60 series cab

I usually throw all of my equipment in the bed of my mule and take it and the tractor in the woods. There just isn't enough room on a tractor to carry two saws, gas and oil, safety equipment, chains, and drinks.

Dont that require two drivers or do you have one on remote control.........

How do you carry all the stuff in the woods now? I carry my gas/oil nuts and bolts this and that behind my seat.

With my side by side. The small stuff I cut up and put in a small trailer and then I come back with the tractor to skid the big stuff. It works but it would be just as easy to put the small stuff in the loader and skid the larger stuff but I know that sooner or later I would forget the saws are in the bucket and dump them.

"but I know that sooner or later I would forget the saws are in the bucket and dump them."<<<<<<<It was sooner for me, when I got my tractor I thought, it's nice to have loader bucket to put the chainsaw, gas, oil......in, wasn't long I scooped up a bucket of dirt to move and ended up dumping out all my stuff, wonder I didn't break the saw.

For those of you who use scabbards, doesn't that put a fair amount of stress on the bar attaching point?
The power head is, in my admittedly limited experience, pretty heavy...

Roy: yes, the power head can beND the bar... which is the reason I have a rubber bungee strap holding it firmly in place on my scabbard. Some don't, and if there's no bouncing or jarring force on it, it will likely be ok. I won't take that risk.

Bungee not in place in this picture, it goes thru the eye bolt at the bottom of the saw, with both hooks on the top side of the saw, in a 'v' shape, one end over the body, one over the handle.

I ran my saw over when it fell from the bucket one day this Spring......I didn't have to cut wood the next day.

I usually have a second driver, but I'm rarely working more than a few hundred yards from the house .

1) Saw won't bend bar if fully inserted into scabbard with the "teeth" on front of power head resting on the edge. there just isn't any "play" for it to do so.
2) I also prefer to use the side by side with 2-3 saws and all the gear if i am going out to cut or deal with a downed tree. The saw on the tractor is for unexpected small stuff blocking the trail or along the road when brush hogging trails or using flail mower along side of roads. Enough to just clear the path, often combined with the forks.

No problem at all with normal length bars. As long as the longer bars can extend down through the scabbard there is no issues either. I can haul my 28" with not too much movement but the 36" is too shaky for me and it is a bear to pull out of the scabbards. That bar sees limited use anyway. More work than I want anymore!! CJ
