You are correct about AGCO but the the larger AGCO tractors (utility) I have seen are Cummins powered and the Massey's and Chalangers are Perkins (Massey) and Perkins/CAT) Challenger. As for the compacts they are Iseki. In addition their are some badged SAME untis in their as well.

Cat used to produce the tracked tractors. AGCO acquired them and introduced wheeled versions.

Yes and I believe their is a marketing agreement between CAT and AGCO.

CATERPILLAR. I have a dealer 5 miles down the road from me. They are 100% backed by CAT.

So what are your feelings on these compacts? They are Massy with Challenger brandings? I have a dealer about 50 miles away. My friend wanted to go take a look. Worth looking at? (Not to start any wars /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) haha. Sounded like they are sold in NE only?.

The larger tractors are all going to Sisu (Valtra) engines, even the Massey's, under 100hp will have Sisu engines in the future. The Challenger (Cat), I am told, will be the only tractor with Perkins, now owned by Cat.

Has anyone heard about Agco buying a factory in China??

Out here in Oregon our local CAT dealership lot is full of Challenger tractors. They have everything from the large tracked machines, large medium and small wheeled tractors, swathers, large disks, bailers, just about everything including the standard construction equipment.

Their factory is in Findland. They have a factory in Brazil also, but I do not know if they build engines there

I talked to the cat dealer in my area . He said they talked about selling these tractors but , they didn't think they would move them very well due to the fact that there is no professional farming in the area & this is what this tractor was built for.

Sisu engines are a part of VALTRA, which AGCO purchased in 2004. Some models are built in the Massey factory, with Caterpillar or Challenger Endurance (Sisu) engines. There are some built in Brazil at the Valtra factory there for sale outside of the USA, (the WT series). Iseki builds the compacts. The tracked tractors are built in the USA with Caterpillar engines.
