Challenging Case DX24E

My 2004 Case DX24E tractor really doesn't want me to use it. The engine has about 230 hours and is in great shape. Most of the time, when I start it, the engine starts right up. Then when I try to take the brake off, it dies. All the other settings are correct for running the tractor. I am pretty sure the problem is with a safety device but I'm not able to find the problem. The Case dealer was bought out and the new company only sells the Mahindra brand of tractor and the large, commercial sized Case equipment.

Does anyone have an idea of what I need to do to fix the tractor so I can drive it? I want to get everything running so I can sell it this Spring since I really don't need it anymore. The work I needed it for is complete and I could use the money from selling it for something else.

I would check the seat switch. Some people disconnect it, and use a jumper wire on the connector as a temporary test.

bad seat switch. the tractor is not supposed to move if your not sitting in the seat!.. that's why it shuts off..

I'm familiar with a DX33 so I'm guessing it's similar. I would check safety switches in front of the rear axle. Mine are on the left side of the tractor when you are sitting in the seat.

I checked the seat switch and found a very small twig was lodged between the switch poles. I removed it and the other stuff which had lodged under the seat and everything works fine. Thanks very much for your input! I was breaking my teeth trying to figure out why the darn thing wouldn't run. Just goes to show, a person never knows enough. On a non-related question, have any of you replaced the adjusting links on the 3 point hitch? Mine bent and/or broke when I was using the dozer blade function on my box scraper. I would really like to install heavier duty ones but the dealership only sells the originals.
