(flash, flash, flash, pause, flash, flash, flash, pause...) indicates a low battery condition.

Well, that 3 flash pattern was what it was doing. I pressed Reset and now there is a steady flashing. The battery more-than-likely is the original battery so it would not hurt it to be replaced. I have a neighbor who could help me do that. Will disconnecting from the battery change any settings, etc?

The only setting that I can think of that the system has right now is being able to recognize the radio remote opener. It should not effect that. You've already had the battery unplugged anyway.

The battery says Leoch djw 12-33(12V 35ah). I did a search for the exact same battery and all I get is an Apex battery. I know it has to be rechargeable, this one has done well so I thought I would stick with the same one, which I am having a hard time finding.

The battery is dated 04 of 13, so it is time to replace. I went out this morning on the off-chance I could get the actuator arm to extend. The arm is not interacting with my handheld opener. It did interact before all the Set Limit attempts.

The below link says it is a replacement for my battery. Could you please take a look and see if it is? Not quite sure why I cannot find a OEM Leoch. I just re-read the below link specs and I did not see the word "rechargeable" anywhere. I would feel better if I saw that. Thanks.

Leoch DJW12-33 12V 35Ah UPS Replacement Battery: BatteryClerk.com UPS

The below link does say rechargeable.

Mighty Max 12V 35AH SLA Battery Replacement for Leoch DJW12-33 | eBay

I spoke w/BattreriesPlus, they have what I am looking for at $105 + tax plus an hours drive each way to get it. Forgot to ask the brand name.

Nancy - in your first post you relayed that cycling the gate open/closed closed the gate too far and set off an alarm. At this point you should be redoing the limit programming as if you had just installed the arm. Now that taking battery power off the board has reset it, you're ready to do that relatively simple procedure (review that YouTube video I linked). Don't skip ahead to the end. Just do all the steps and hopefully things will work. Have you installed the new actuator arm? If not, keep in mind what I wrote in an earlier post about how to modify the programming based on the gate being in the open position at the beginning of the programming process.

Once you've got the gate opening and closing using the push button on the board, then you can look at what the issue is with the handheld remote. The programming for the remotes should not have been affected by a loss of power, but the procedure to reprogram them is also fairly simple. Is it possible that someone inadvertently erased the previously stored codes by holding the "LEARN XMITTER" button for 6 seconds? See page 33 of the manual.

As far as the battery is concerned, you could do a search for the part number shown in the manual (A12330SGLPK). The first return in the list for me was the brand that you're searching for:
Liftmaster A1233SGLPK Battery - 12V 33 Ah

But, like Aaron, I'd just search for a 33 ah (amp-hour) 12 volt battery that has the same physical dimensions as the one that you have now. They will all be sealed lead-acid rechargeable batteries. I don't know of a way to judge the superiority of one brand over another.

"(A12330SGLPK)" I am impressed. I looked many places for the name brand battery. I am not too keen on the price, the ones on Amazon will end up being half the price.

"They will all be sealed lead-acid rechargeable batteries. I don't know of a way to judge the superiority of one brand over another."
That was my next question. I read some of the reviews on Amazon of the batteries and one was the battery would not recharge, this Leoch brand has held up well. Went back and re-read the negative ratings on some of the batteries, biggest complaint is they would not hold a charge.

It IS possible I pressed the LearnXmitter button, when attempting to Set Limits. When I press the handheld remote now, I can hear the solenoid lock doing something(it goes Click). I believe when attempting to Set Limits, I inadvertently set both limits at the same place(open). And no, I have not installed the new arm.

Well, I re-watched the youtube video from your previous post and picked up that I should be Pressing and Holding the Set Limits buttons. I went out and Pressed Reset, then Set Limits but no lights went on. I believe I will install the new battery then attempt to re-program. I wish I could get the actuator arm to extend(be in the closed position)but I cannot get the key to move the manual release.
Again, thanks for all advice. I know you have better things to do than walk a person through getting a gate opener to work, long distance.

I ordered the Weize battery from Amazon, it will be here in 2 days. I tried to order locally, the stores were charging too much, plus a drive. Should I put a trickle charge on the battery before installing? I am not too keen on working with larger batteries. Should I just disconnect the current one and replace it w/the charged one? No other concerns? Thanks.

I would do as you have suggested, Nancy. Trickle charge it prior to installation so that you can use it right away to do the gate limit programming.

There are lots of good videos and tutorials on the Internet about "how to safely change a vehicle battery", which is just a bigger version of your 12V lead-acid gate battery. You'll feel more confident about the process after watching a few of those. I'd unplug the white quick connects first to disconnect the battery from the board, then disconnect the wiring harness negative terminal from the battery followed by the positive. Then reverse to install. Just always keep in mind to not complete an electrical circuit between the two battery terminals, like by letting a wrench touch both at the same time.

"unplug the white and white quick connects first" ok.
"disconnect the wiring harness negative terminal from the battery followed by the positive. reverse to install". ok
"not complete an electrical circuit between the two battery terminals" That is the main reason I do not like working around batteries. I trickle charge my zero-turn and Deere 5055 periodically in winter/spring and feel comfortable doing that but never have replaced a battery myself. Oh well, no time like the present to learn.

Battery has been connected, came fully charged.

UPDATE: Chamberlain finally came through and called me yesterday. Debbie from Parts organized the callback and I spoke w/Victor in troubleshooting. While I was at the gate he walked me though what "should" work to get the system operational. He asked me if I had a blue or green circuitboard, I believe blue is the older one, which is the one I have. Then we tried a number of moves, press this button, press that button, at one point we were ready to disconnect the battery(we did not have to) and a light came on and it was downhill from there.
One problem was the manual, which you, Chris, had commented on. First, I pressed the Reset button. In adjusting the gate Open Limit and Closed Limit, the directions are to first Press Learn Limits button. It should read Press and Hold, Victor said sometimes it can take up to a minute of holding. I did "press and hold" the Learn Limits button, then released. No light came in. But in 5-10 seconds the Set Open Limit light DID come on. Then just above the light is a button with an arrow, you have to "Press and Hold" that button in until it gets to the spot where you would like it to be fully open. Release the button, then Press once, not hold, the Learn Limits button. You should hear a beep, then the Set Closed Limit light should come on. Just above that light is a button with an arrow, you have to "Press and Hold" that button until it gets to the spot where you would like it to be fully closed. Release that button, Press once the Learn Limits button and the program should be set. I was lucky, mine was.
I have a single gate, pull-to-open.Others should program similarly.
I did notice the pull-to-open bracket, which connects the post bracket to the actuator arm, was not behaving property when opening, it seemed to bend incorrectly and would not allow the gate to open. I put an additional pin in it to not allow the movement and will keep an eye on it. I did not see this addressed in the manual, I assume I have the brackets installed properly.
And the remote from the house is operational. At least as of this morning. The gate is closing fully and the solenoid lock, which I moved on the post, is functioning as it should. Thanks for your support.

You're welcome, Nancy. I'm glad that it has worked out for you.
