My L4400HST was just like that. I had the same engine oil conundrum as well. I filled it to the top mark then ran it for a few minutes let it settle and topped it off. I keep my UDT fluid to the top of the sight window because I operate on steep hills and want to keep the suction tube submerged.

I cannot imagine anyone being too tight to not do the 50hr service. On my B2710HST the tranny and front diff oils literally sparkled with the metal that was in the oil. The screen had small metal bits on it as well. I am **** about my equipment so I serviced the tranny and front diff again at 100hrs and installed a top-notch full synthetic fluid & filters. After that my oil samples have indicated I am well able to run the fluids much longer than the 300 hr interval. It just seems to run better and better. My friend had to have green paint on his small tractor and it irritates him to no end because my Bota gets much better fuel economy than his green tractor. I love it.

Hi! New here. Do you use a multi grade 10w30 hydraulic fluid, or what type? I have to get some fluid for my 2002 BX2200

You want Kubota SUDT or the newer SUDT2 fluid in that BX.. Lots of guys have cheeped out on fluid, and from what I hear they regretted it.. Bite the bullet and buy the high dollar fluid. A little Hydro is more finicky than grandpas ole Massey or something like that.

Might sound like a stupid question but I'am starting to wonder if hydro-tranny tractors seem to put out more metal shavings, particles etc than DT (direct trans) gear or shuttle trans. My L3400DT had about one half the amount of metal particles and no shaveings as some of you's gents pictures.I did the fluid changes at probably 47hrs. Just wondereing.
And I know Chilly/Sean has a DT like mine and reported quite a bit.

Hey Boone ! I think it just depends on how well the cases got cleaned out before assembly, at least for the machine chips. One thing for sure, the more metal moving parts and contact between them, the more particles you're going to get. I don't get too concernead about it myself, it has to get past the filter and magnet to get back into the pump.
