Mowing Changing a BX23 from TLB to mowing machine

/ Changing a BX23 from TLB to mowing machine #11
AK,

I just did the opposite of what you are comtemplating. I just sold my BX-23, and ordered a L3430HST. The BX is nice, however I need to run a five or six foot brush hog and the BX is just not designed to handle larger three point implements. I had the BX-23 with a 60" MMM, and it cut grass well, but it got to the point that removing the hoe and sometimes the fel everytime I needed to cut grass was becoming a real pain (off and on 20 minutes for the hoe and off and on 15 minutes for the fel). So even with a BX that could cut grass, I was compelled to purchase a seperate mowing machine. For my grass cutting solution I ended up with a zero turn Kubota ZG-23. Great machine, easy to handle and fast. I can cut grass twice as fast as I could on the BX, however I have not tried bagging with either machine. Perhaps you should consider a zero turn mower for your grass cutting solution? I think with your L3430 and the purchase of a zero turn mower you would probably end up with a two machine does it all solution. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
