Kubota L4300DT
Invariably batteries die and must be replaced. The one on my 2004 Kubota L4300DT died and so I thought replacing it was going to be a snap. I went to remove the old battery and boy was I surprised. Long story short, I wound up removing the grille, front running lights, and a thing called the front grille post, from the bottom of the tractor no less. I got the old battery out and the new one installed. Thank the tractor gods that Messick's publishes their exploded diagrams so I could scrape off all of the grunge and find all the bolts that needed to be removed. Everything works just fine now, but is there an easier way? My cryptic Kubota dealer said it's no big deal with the newer models with automotive type hoods. Yeah, I'm going to buy a new tractor because of a dead battery. I needed to replace the grille screen anyway due to close encounters of the brush pile kind, but I just want to know for future reference. Anybody got an easier way?

Just starting to replace my L4300DT battery. Thought the hard part was over when I got the 10 mm nuts off of the battery hold-down clamp. Now I'm looking for the secret to get this thing out without taking my tractor apart.
Anyone able to help?

See the thread: "Easy battery replacement on early Kubotas like the L4300 and similar. FYI" It's all there. Good luck.
