my 2 cents I run the blades on the bottom of the disk with the mounting bolts facing up ie: nuts on top of disk, from personal experience I have found that the mounting hardware takes a lot of abuse and I prefer to change blades at the end of the season without using a ''fire wrench'' yes, I feel a balanced disk is important , but after you grind-up a couple of rocks-old fence posts-wire fencing -etc. you would spend a lot of time trying to keep everything in balance, keep in mind that this is very minor maintenance issue in comparison to using the brush hog blades.Property owners like to let their grass get about 2 ft tall before they schedule to mow , and they want the manicured lawn look when the job is finished,the brush hog blades (special order $$$) are quicker, but the finish cut looks rough -disc blades (available locally /cheaper) take a little longer (10-20 minutes per acre) but have the finished look that is desired by property owners
