As I drove around the front 2 acres Sunday using my new disc to condition the soil and finish killing (I hope) the kudzu that called this land home, a couple of songs came to mind:

"Discing the night away"; Chubby Checkers
"I'm all disced up"; Elvis
"I disced it my way"; Frank Sinatra (and I think Elvis also)

So am I nuts or does anyone else do this? Any examples, or suggestions for treatment?

Thank you for having the courage to make this post. I feel less alone /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif.

Only one comes to mind...

A word of caution:

I used to make up lyrics as I was mowing the fields. Then I'd sometimes sing them. Sing is used loosly here. I would have my hearing protection on, and my musical efforts would sound, to me, suitable muffled. Then one day, after a particularly creative medley, I finished up the field closest to my neighbor's house and went in for lunch, where upon my wife asked me what I had been screaming about. As I was much closer to the neighbor's place than my house during this exercise, I have since watched them whenever we meet, expecting some comment about my unusual "talent".

Before I got into this thread, I thought you might be talking about getting the original lyrics wrong, i.e., singing what you thought were the right ones until someone mercilessly corrects you. I refuse to give examples. A local radio station, years ago, coined the term Chronic Lyricosis to describe the condition.

As for making up your own lyrics, I'm with bgott. When I'm alone, I apologize to Whomever heard them, and let it be. Too bad we can't be solving great social dilemmas or working out personal problems when we're alone, huh?

Hmmmmm, hmmmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, hmmmmm /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

One of the radio stations did something like that up here also - they called it disk-lexia.
