Okay, I've changed the filters and UDT fluid in the past with no problem, but the strainer was a different story. Last time I found it really difficult to access the strainer, and it was such a tight fit I remember worrying that I might break the metal hydraulic line. Is there a trick to freeing up the HST strainer that I don't see in the manual?

TIA, Pete

I have to do mine again soon but I don't remember exactly what I had to do the last time. I'll check again tonight and see if I can remember what I did the last time.

Pete,

My guess is that it will be easier this time as you are the one that put it back on last time.

You probably did not torque it down as tight as the first gorilla did, not to imply that you are a gorilla, of course... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Pete,
Is this a done deal? I'm just now stumbling onto this post. Are you working from the shop manual? If not, I have one at home and would be glad to post whatever hints it might have for you. Let me know if you still need this info.

Well, I'm really late responding to this post. Sorry about that. I changed my filters and fluids this afternoon. The strainer is a pain in the neck to get at. I have found it easier to disconnect the Brake connecting rod and both ends so I can slide it out of the way a little bit. I also then disconnect the spring that is connected to the small lever in front of the strainer. I didn't look very closely but I think it is the PTO engaging lever. With the spring off the little lever moves out of the way easily.

Once the connecting rod and spring are disconnected it is pretty easy to get at the strainer. With the rod and spring on it is almost impossible to get the strainer out.

I am assuming you have already taken care of this boondox but maybe someone else will be looking for this information in the future.

Good Luck,
Kevin
