The clear filter is before the pump, Pump is before the big filter. So yes it does protect it.

How about part numbers and where you got your filter at. I`m sure people will want to save money where they can.

I have no part #'s, the only thing is the clear filter you can get anywhere. The brackets I made.

Well you`d think so until your out there underneath the tractor in a snow bank in the freezin cold and the tractor is dead...lol

Just saying...I don't remember having to remove anything to gain access? It was right there in the open. Wonder if something changed on them or different dealer setup??

Your right, its open to get at, its just not ideal to crawl under the tractor if it quits while your in the dead of winter when you need it most to keep running without any hiccups.
The easiest thing to do (just my own opinion) is to make sure you take care of things properly ahead of time so that your not out there in the cold scratching your head (or scratching something else) when the tractor dies.

Plan ahead and you are not in that situation.

Exactly Rick. And thats why i have ZERO fuel problems with my tractors in the cold winter days & nights, unless i end up with some bad fuel from where i buy it at, but that`s uncontrollable for me on my end.
If i do my part, my tractors run flawlessly. I have to rely on them heavily. If i can make a change or modify something to make it easier for me to keep my equipment running, i do so.

I think what people seem to miss, with their equipment, is that they dont do anything until its broke. That is a very bad practice in my own opinion.

When I farmed I had several trucks and tractors that had to run every day. Early on I began the practice of changing fuel filters between Halloween and Thanksgiving and having treated fuel by Dec 1. I bought fuel from reputable suppliers that moved a decent volume of product.
I can’t recall having fuel issues.

The canister filter is non-OEM to the BX. Where did you find it complete for under $40?

Rick I had 2 of them and got both for 40. I did not get from a retailer just can't remember where I got them. I had put that one on right after I got my BX. Just this year I moved the pump and other filter. I had got a fuel nozzle full of lady bugs in my tank and that is why I did it.

I think there is a fuel pick up screen inside the tank. I dont think you see those lady bugs make it to your filter, until they dissolve entirely, but i`m betting it`ll be a very long time before they do.
Good to have that big filter in-line regardless though. I think i saw where you replied that you have the big filter before the rear tank pump, which is the right way to install it.
