15 amps for a 14 gauge wire.Actually resettable circuit breaker.... With a fuse it will blow when you have no spare on tractor and nearest one is at the absolute other end of property....

an MSEE says it's a very good idea to put one in!..I don't think I'd mess with a fuse or circuit breaker. After all, it never had one originally and the bad wire, short to ground caused the problem. I always liked split loom to put wires in, especially areas that could be problematic.
