Charging System

I am a new owner of a JD750, a Yammar in green paint, and am having a problem with the charging system. The charge light stays on and the battery runs down over time. Does anyone have basic info about the system? In particular, what kind of generator/alternator do I have? I find two wires comming out which seem to be one winding and no sign of a field winding. There is also a 6 pin regulator on the fire wall. Does anyone have a schematic?

Also, what is the eqivalent Yammar model?

You should get around 25 AC volts if you connect a meter to the 2 wire out of the alternator. You will probably get that voltage, and that would point to the regulator which we stock.
