Basically what's an equitable price and would they let me "swap out" if mine died?

---------------------

Just swap the SIM cards.

I bought two Mobleys and the second one is my insurance policy in case the first one dies.

Every once in a while mine will slow down, slower than tower congestion. A power on reset brings it back up to my normal speeds for being over 9 miles from the tower.

Signal strength is -116, just now ran these:

Tried to watch YouTube about 8 last night, major buffering. Ran a Speedtest, result was extremely slow:

Checked signal level on my AT&T Wi-Fi Manager page. It was -103 dBm. Did a power on reset, got the normal -116 dBm and ran Speedtest again.

The result is normal tower busy speeds for that time of the evening:

Major tower congestion always shows up with download a lot less than upload.

I have mine taped against the upper pane in a window facing the tower. Usually report 15-20 Mbps down. When it slows the first thing I check is the tape. :). Then I do a restart. I guess I am lucky that my tower that is 10 miles away doesn't seem to get congested.

I haven't posted here in awhile but glad to see so many of you took advantage of my post before AT&T took it the plan away. My mobley and everyone I know that has one is still going strong :)

Yep, thank you muchly for starting this thread. It is how I found out about the Mobley.

We were able to drop the $70 per month HughesNet satellite service, for the $20 per month Connected Car plan that doesn't quit working when the storms roll in.

My Mobley is still working great and the service is still $22.01 per month. I have been very pleased with it. Thanks for informing me about it zimy!

Yes, Zimy, I'm also glad you posted. It's been awesome for us out in the country!

I checked and I'm still running at normal speeds. Not sure exactly where I'm at in my billing/usage cycle but I can say I've never noticed a slowdown and I would notice.

Mine seems to run fine. I'm not on it that much to see about throttled speeds.

I actually have two - My daughter uses one in her apartment while she's in college. $20/mo beats $65/mo from the cable company - especially for how little she's on the interwebs.

I use the other one primarily when I travel, but it does live in my truck most of the time. Great for streaming my radio station if I'm out and about. My cell phone is on a limited plan shared by 4 devices so connecting my phone to the Mobley when I'm out of radio range for my station has been great. When I travel, it's nice to have secure internet instead of the hotel's wireless!!

Mines been running great. Thank you too! I swapped out a metered verizon connection $80/6GB per month and $10 per gig overages, which meant one HD movie would have cost something around $80.

Has anyone tried using a Mobley with a Cricket SIM card? Cricket is AT&T's budget pay-as-you-go subsidiary. I use it for my cell phone and have never had any problem just dropping my SIM into whatever AT&T device I buy on Amazon or Ebay. On the Cricket website it seems they have unlimited data plans starting around $55/month, which would still be a good deal.

I looked into this at one point because I did not get in on the $20/mo att plan. The stuff I was reading on line from RV Forums was that Cricket was cracking down on this and they had a way to detect if the traffic was coming from your phone or a MiFi device.

Wife uses Cricket for her cell. AT&T is the only tower we can get service from at the house. So if I am wrong and I can get a second Cricket phone and then put that sim in a MiFi device sign me up!

Not sure about cricket but I think you can still get unlimited data on the mobley if you have one of AT&T unlimited plus plans, the plans aren't super cheap though, I "Think".... the first line is $80 and each additional line is $20, so the mobley would be a $20 addon, would only be a good deal if you have many lines.

Very easy to track the manufacturer of the device based on the MAC Address

I have a question about troubleshooting my mobley.

I have the mobley connected to a AR GL300 router. Has been trouble free for a long time. Today I have no service. I logged into my account with my phone and the account status is okay.

I can log into my router on pc okay but can't get to the att wifi manager. Should I be able to log into the wifi manager regardless of signal?

I am hoping they just have a tower problem but seems like I should be able to log into the mobley whether it has a signal or not.

Been having the same problem since friday. The AR router modem wont connect to the mobley. Will check wifi manager tonight with a computer. I connected to wifimanager with my phone, but it wouldnt navigate to menus from the phone.

I get service from the mobley.

My router shows in the list but not the mobley. Windows troubleshooting says cable broken from router to service. Can't see the mobley on pc or phone. Mobley has the same dim green light as normal.

I've been having lots of router problems, but it usually works if I hook up direct to the mobely

Just logged into my wifi security cameras on the router with no problem so router network is okay.
