cheap air compressor question

OP here. Thanks for all of your suggestions. I got some good leads from these. The other thing that occurred to me is that finding a compressor that doesn't leak down too fast may be in part, the luck of the draw- like FEL loader valves and fluorescent fixtures that don't hum.
