I'm not sure how deep my fence is buried. What I was told though, is that these collars use a signal similar to a cell phone. And I believe most of the transmitters allow you to crank up the signal from 1 to (on mine) 12. Each number was roughly a foot. I gotta believe 6" of soil isn't gonna be a problem.
