....snip>........While typing this, I think I would go out right now and buy some fake cameras and signs just to get things started. Some of those cameras have LED lights in them that light up. Just have one at the gate and a few others around the house. If he's like most vandals, he's a coward and will back down if he thinks he'll get caught.....<snip>

I think this is great advice. I'd get some of those prominent signs that say "premises under 24 hour video surveillance" and let him wonder where the cameras are.

you can get fake signs on ebay, along with fake camera. put the cameras in a spot where its goign to be noticed and hide the real ones. that way if he smashes or tampers with the fake camera you have pictures of it.

Best of luck to you on that one. Will readings can be loads of fun. I'm a big fan of confronting those who have a problem w/ me. When someone threatens me or my family (even through someone else) they better look out. I'm sure this will settle down with time but I'd let the authorities know about this or not let anyone know and "fix" this myself. Remember, you can pick your friends but you can not pick your family....
