Many were ASTM graded industrial rated in both metric and standard up to maybe an inch or so diameter by six-eight inches long. Lots of grade five coated common sizes, big flat and lock washers, etc., etc.A TON. ha ha ha. Are they all the same size?
As the others said, best deals around here are the farmers coop or TSC. We have a retail chain called Home Hardware (like Ace) that sells by the pound too. They are all quite competitive on pricing.
It was all left over hardware from industrial installations with big ductile iron pipe, high pressure and high vac applications. I had to spend a couple of days sorting but it was worth it.
I just cannot seem to get around to selling some off, lol!
I am waiting patiently for the day when they install more equipment. The space is there covered with big steel plates just right for making a welding table.
FWIW, I used to find good hardware at yard sales and flea markets. Buy it and sit on it until the day you need it. Also, way back when, an employer talked the local Granger store into setting up an "employee account". You paid up front but got the business discount.
