Yea, we don't get much snow down this way - maybe 2 or 3 times a year and gennerally pretty light. I'll keep your experience in mind though if they forecast a bunch or the "wet" type. Sorry again about your troubles.

Yes, it was pretty level. I have a spot to park my tractor that was built by the previous land owner as a parking spot for his 22-wheel Kenworth gravel truck and I put the shelter there. I would estimate the plane upon which the legs rested was flat within an inch over the 10'x20' footprint. However, I did't go as far as shooting the grade with a transit or laser level.
