Re: \"Cheapest\" with air conditioning

JimI, Thanks for looking into this. From what I've gathered so far, the "TC" series seems to be more popular than the "TN" series, probably because of compactness and price, although I guess none of the "TC" series come from the factory with cabs and/or A/C (a downer). I'll definitely be checking out the TN55s at the show tomorrow, and also comparing them with the Kubota L3710 and JD 5220s (These are the results from my posts on the Kubota/JD boards for their cheapest models with A/C cabs).

Again, thanks for looking.

Re: "Cheapest" with air conditioning

Dave, my dealer said he could equip a TC with air conditioning down to a TC35 as I had thought, but he also said the canopy (third-party) was not nearly as nice as the NH one and that the AC was another addon after the canopy was installed. In our 100+ heat here in Texas, I'm not surprised to see this be true. I just don't like a cab myself. I feel too closed in and truthfully, it wouldn't last a week before I'd wipe it out on a tree limb. I've already whacked a couple of trees pretty good with my ROPS./w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Re: "Cheapest" with air conditioning

I'd love to have an air-conditioned cab, but like one neighbor who has 3 of them told me, "If the air-conditioning goes out, you're out of service until it's fixed. Opening or removing the doors isn't enough; you can't stay in there with the sun shining through front and rear glass in this part of the country". I do know one guy with an old International on which the air-conditioning quit and he didn't want to get it fixed, so he removed the doors, then knocked out all the other glass all the way around./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Bird,

That's one expensive way to get a canopy.

Hey, I think I know this guy. Didn't he drive a convertible that he couldn't get the top to come up on? ...and didn't he have an old Chevy pickup sitting up on ramps in his front yard? Yep, I think he's the same guy who had to borrow my battery to start his backhoe to dig my septic system. I'm sure it must have been the same fellow./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Re: \"Cheapest\" with air conditioning

JimI, I would like a cab, but like you, would not last long. Too many trees. I would want the cab more for winter use. My wish list includes a softside cab for winter use. Don't have to worry about tree limbs when clearing the driveway and the winds here in northern Illinois (about 60 miles SW of Chicago) can chill you to the bone pretty quickly.

Re: "Cheapest" with air conditioning

JimI, wouldn't be surprised if it's the same guy./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif This particular fellow does some hay work and also has a nearly new Kubota M6800. I think he drives it and makes his helper drive the old International./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Last summer when it was new, the Kubota air-conditioner quit cooling on a Sunday, so instead of going back to the dealer, he took it to a local mechanic who's a friend of mine. The mechanic put his gauges on it and wow! 400# head pressure. So he hosed out the grass seeds, clippings, dust, and other debris from the radiator and, lo and behold, head pressure dropped and the air-conditioner worked great again./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif A real sharp fellow when it comes to maintenance./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Yeah, but it's a 4-poster instead of two./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Re: \"Cheapest\" with air conditioning

DaveV, Good point. I'll have to check today at the show if the doors/windows on the TN-series tractor cabs are removable at all to allow use even when the A/C goes out (although, if this happened to ME, I WOULD get the A/C fixed ASAP!)

Re: \"Cheapest\" with air conditioning

Dave, I believe NH is supposed to have a softside cab. It is shown in the pricelist for the state of MN that has been referenced many times in threads under this topic. It shows to be "TBD" on source and price. I figure it's like the quick-attach bucket. I keep hearing that it's coming, but yesterday when I asked my dealer, he said he didn't have one yet. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
