Cheapestest PHD available for a <20hp PTO?

I bought a gearmore (really daunser) http://www.gearmore.com/dandigr.pdf from a dealer just off the 15 between san diego and la. gearmore's hq is there off the 10 in LA, a bit south of where maps.yahoo.com says canyon country, ca is. I am thinking I paid around 500 including the 9 inch bit which is perfect for planting 4x4 fence posts.

It works ok with my kubota b7200hst (18 hp or so). Power is not a problem, getting it to break through the hardpan is. I find that if I start the holes, wait till it is sitting there bouncing, then move to the next hole, I can start all the holes I need, fill them with water, and then when I come back in an hour or so, it cuts through our hard adobe clay like butter.

I don't use mine much, and I am a couple hours NW of you, so drop me a PM and maybe we can work something out.

Don't feel all alone down there in sunny Cal. up here in Seattle I am finding the same thing. Dealers seem to
think they have license to tack on 50% surcharges. the nearest TSC to me is Billings MT. I talked to them
today about a manure spreader they have for $1200. My local Kubota dealer wants $1600 for the very same
spreader. TSC can have it drop shipped to Seattle for about $100. If I were you I'd call the nearest TSC
and see what shipping cost would be. Also found the same situation with tillers, see my post about ccm tillers.

Not to worry about the money, just go down in the river bottom a couple of hundred yards on your side of the Bouquet Canyon bridge, and dig up a couple of nuggets. I don't have a picture digitized, but my youngest son got more gold there in an afternoon, than the neighbor across the street did in a week workin' a dredge in the American River. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Since neither of us are gonna be diggin' there any more, I don't think he'll mind my revealing the position of the "glory hole".

If prices are that high why not order from sweet tractors or CCI. They both have what you're looking for and for the right price. They can ship it right to your door in a few days.

I'm looking for a PHD for my JD4100. Should I be concerned with this or are you speaking mostly of the BX2200 and JD2100 types?

I bought the same PHA from the same dealer-www.eberhard.com-
in Santa Ana. The price was $475.00 + tax with the same bit. I
use it with a Yanmar 186D and have drilled about 600 holes
with no problems. It does wear out the cuters but putting
a hardend edge on them helped.
