I'm probably going to be getting a Kubota L4400 soon. I don't have a shed for it. And after the tractor I don't have much (any) money left over for a shed. But I understand it is best to keep them under something, for resale value if nothing else.
Any advice or general plans for a small shed? I've built my own log cabin so I'm fairly handy, but the emphasis here is CHEAP. I've got some old metal roofing available and I'm thinking about just sinking 4 6x6x10 in the ground and use some 2x6s to go from one 6x6 to the other and then 2x4s across the top for purlins to mount the roofing to. Maybe put some 2x4s down the sides to put some of the roofing metal on the sides as well to block wind blown rain. I'll leave it open at the ends. The 6x6x10 PT posts are about $30 a piece. I figure the rest of the wood to be around $100. The metal is free. I've got screws and nails. The ground is dense clay so I may just sink the posts about 3' and without concrete. Dirt floor of course. That would give me 7' of clearance in the front.
Obviously very basic but it looks like I might could get by for under $300. I could save $120 and cut four big cedars for posts (there are 75 yo cedar post barns around here still standing) but I think the 6x6's would be easier to frame against. Other than that, anyone know of any cheaper way I could do this?
