checking trans/hyd level

I have a MF 1529 hydro, just performed 50 hr service and cant believe how difficult it is to read the hyd level on the dipstick.....I used a paper towel to "blot" the stick but think it should be made easier to check the level.....

Yes, I have the same problem, too. I use a piece of newspaper and roll the dipstick on the paper. The paper method is the best I have figured out...
