Looking for information on Chemtech filters. I have one that needs to be replaced on a diesel fuel storage tank. It has a drain on the bottom so I am guessing it is the type you drain, screw off, and then replace the internal filter. The logo on it is an indian chief if that helps.
As always, thanks.

The Chemtech filter I have on my diesel tank is like a oil filter. It also has a drain on the bottom to drain off any water. I get them at a place called Rural King. I have what is called a 3/4" filter and they also have a 1" filter. The canister is the same basic size but the threads are different.

So is the filter all one piece and you replace the whole thing?

It probably is one piece, most of the ones on fuel pumps are unless it has a clear plastic fuel bowl. The petcock in the bottom is to drain off accumulated water. Try TSC, they should have a filter that fit's.

I found them at a dealer, but they have two, one is a 2 micron and the other is a 10. Dealer said 2 micron provides better filtering but does not have drain petcock, the 10 does have drain petcock. Any thoughts or preference and how often should they be changed...time or fuel usage, or both? The fileter that is on the tank has a date of 2004, but only has about 900 gallons run through it.
