chevron 1000 thf

I was at a oil distributor today . we were talking about tractor hyd /transmission fluid. we were discussing udt and what a good alternative was that was less cost. he recommended chevrons 1000thf.
He showed me where it meet udt spec's and said it was a high quality fluid. costs $ 26.00 per 5 gallons. alot better price than udt.
He really pushed it over all other brands he carried. and he carried almost all.
Anybody ever had any experience with this product in a kubota?

OK, if it will make you feel better, I'll post one for you. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I use Chevron oil in Kubota, but only the engine. I so infrequently change hydraulic oil and when I did, I stuck with Super UDT which exhibited characteristics superior to Amsoils full synthetic. Chevrons Delo 15W40 has been the oil of choice for trucking fleets here in California and is very highly regarded. It does a nice job of keeping everything clean in my Ford truck which is diesel, comes in a nifty 1 gallon blue container or quarts, pours nicely once the cap is removed and is available at Costco. I generally avoid the oil topic here anymore but saw the comment you made about Kubota, that was great, Rat...

Fellers, am I missing something here, or are you two talking about two entirely different things? Rat is talking about engine oil and you're talking about tractor hydraulic fluid if I understood this. Incidentally, Chevron's Delo 400 (15W-40) is what I used in my tractor, and what my brothers used in their diesel trucks (both in Alaska and in Texas). And while I don't really know about the 1000thf, I'll bet it is about the same as Kubota's UDT.

Let me clarify it Bird. I was actually feeling sorry for Mr Sorkabel because he had mentioned how nobody responded to the Chevron 1000thf post which was actually also posted in the Kubota section. I have never used the Chevron hydraulic fluid, but have used Chevrons Delo 15W-40 engine oil (in my engine) for many years and have dabbled with Amsoil's hydraulic and engine oil in my truck. My .02 cents is I will stick with the Kubota SUPER UDT and use Chevrons Delo 15W-40. I have nothing against the Amsoil except that when I need it and I'm out, I have to wait and order more. I suppose if it was really important to me, I would organize and order the oil ahead of time. Chevrons oil is always available. Super UDT is always available except on Sunday. I am sticking with Super UDT primarily because I use HST and since that is what they recommed, its cheap insurance to stick with it. I was sent some great literature from Noel here on TBN about the Super UDT and UDT oils from Kuobta. The tests show a remarkable cold weather improvement with the Super UDT. So what the heck, my climate is pretty moderate, my habit is to start the tractor and go. Warm up for me is 3 or 4 seconds and I'm off. I take it easy until the temp gauge gets moving. If I lived in a very cold climate, my habit would surely be different. Rat... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Bird i was just feeling sad cause nobody would respond to my post like i was some leper or something. i had read about the synthetic chevron but not this particular product.
rat just responded so i didnt have a 0 response post. you know those things can hurt a cyber guys feelings. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I spent the money yesterday on UDT ,it hurt for a few minutes but i am over it for now.
and i am running chevron delo 400 in my tractor.

Well, I was sorry to see that you didn't get any more or quicker responses, too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif But I guess the others, like myself, are just not familiar with the 1000thf. I've mentioned before (probably several times) that the manual with my '95 B7100 said to use UDT or (and listed 6 or 8 other hydraulic oils by brand and model number or letter), so I used the Shell product they listed. I know they had one from Shell, one from Mobil, etc. and think there was a Chevron product, but can't remember for sure. Then the '99 B2710 manual listed only UDT or Super UDT while I understand some of the later manuals only list the Super UDT.

Hello everyone,
I don't know about the chevron oil, but I don't feel bad after yesterday. I was out in Sioux Falls, SD. and stopped by a large Kubota dealer to pick up some Super UDT, since my local dealer didn't stock it, for my BX2200. "What you talkin-bout" was the reply. Doesn't that sound familar guys?? I told them it was supposed to be used in the BX's. The salesman thought I fell off the turnip truck. Here is where my finding TBN paid off. I told him look in a BX manual. We did so, he kinda-got red, gee, maybe you're right. We've NEVER even heard of the stuff, where did you say you learned about this??? I told him TBN, and that it is a treasure trove of info about Kubota and ALL sorts of other tractors and equipment. I then asked about the rear hydraulics for the 2200. He tried to sell me the joystick, he looked at me and said "O.K. how do the guys on TBN do it???" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Needless to say I think TBN will have another customer! I can't answer about the chevron oil, however, I can say you are in the RIGHT spot to learn more about it.
