Also, ground clearance is pretty much dictated by the pumpkin height from the ground (going over center humps not withstanding)...

While this is a true statement on paper if you have something low slung like the cross member for the tranny can get hung up easily if crossing a creek or a hump. A long truck will be much worse then a short truck. Even just driving up and over a median in a field can get it hung up much easier than you ever will catching the pumpkin.

That's what I meant about driving over a hump...I have never beached any of my trucks because I pay attention to the terrain and adjust my logisitcis accordingly..I have gone through some very steep medians, I just traverse them at an acceptable angle, no problems--ever...I don't go off road with reckless abandon...I've seen friends lifted trucks hung up on stuff too...They just barreled through without a care in the world..I don't do that.

Again, I like the look of higher stature trucks, but for 95% of us it's appearance over function from my experience anyway.
