Chevy Suburban as rental?

It boils down to the vehicle will be rented for one maybe two weeks. Driving may be 200-250 miles. Not even one tank of gas on a Suburban. The difference in fuel cost between the Sub and the mini-van may be $10-$20. The difference in rental cost around $100.

Question becomes what level of comfort and convenience do you want. Do you want to be able to pull the hills with six people and luggage or save a few dollars?

Might be moot now to throw this in, but: I love my Yukon XL because to me it feels big enough to stable and safe. I don't give a (bleep) about the lousy gas mileage, when I am hauling a lot of people and/or cargo I want something I feel comfortable in. PERIOD.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but the difference between renting a mini van and a Suburban is more like $300 or $400 for 5 or 6 days.

It's a vacation. Go in style! It's not like it's a recurring expense.

When traveling for work, more often than not, I will spend a little out of pocket above my allowance to get a nicer vehicle. Never regret it either.

We have a chevy suburban and a 2010 Chrysler town and country mini van. Drive 23 hours straight threw to Florida, done it in each. Take the van before the suburban, seats in the van big difference, in every position. Put a thule on the roof everything fits fine, 5 men one women, so........

When I originally posted this it was because I wished someone in my family would have told me that the 2nd and 3rd row seats were as uncomfortable as ****. The kids are older and drive and I don't get to set up front fat and happy, the kids drive, kick me to the back, as momma won稚 ride in the back seat, go figure. The suburban is a 2005 2nd and 3rd row are bench seats, do not recline. Might as well be sitting in a church pew. The 2010 Chrysler mini vans 2nd row has captain痴 chairs and 3rd row is a split bench that reclines. With the kids driving the wife up front 3rd row reclining bench, best seat in the house.
Do not have a clue what the new suburban痴 are like, my choices have nothing to do with fuel mileage. It after all was a vacation. The point I am trying to make is before you rent anything, don稚 make the mistake I did and check out the seats. With the seats we have in our suburban it was 46 hours of ****.
