Chicken's water is freezing - HELP

Aw guys, I just thought it would be cool to have a solar water heater I could brag about.
I'll walk. And yes. they are my daughter's AND wife's pets so I can't kill em and eat em.

Then let THEM haul the water...Problem solved...

TSC has a small heated pail that only draws 50watts. You could run that on a cheap 16/3 ext cord. If you need more than one cord, keep the connection off the ground and wrap it in a plastic bag. Zip-tie it to a stake, a foot or so off the ground. It work for my barn all last winter.

Is there some way to mount the water can partly into the nesting box and let the hens body heat keep it from freezing? Insulate the outside exposed part only. Make those chickens work for their keep.
