Chimney Cleaning?

great link. I now see how the pulley system would work on it. For some reason I had imagined the cable .(one) running down the outside of the chimney.
Looks to me the part that would fail first would be the cable, and thats easily replaced. One question Id have is the bush left at the furthest point on top of the chimney? Or left just below where the thimble goes in?
If its left there the natural dropping would build up above the brush. The top bracket does look as though it is high enough to allow the brush to sit up top when not in use.
Thanks or the link.

No problem for the link. The website leave alot to be desired though.

From the site :The chimney cleaning brush, stored below the stovepipe entrance, thoroughly cleans the flue. Do not risk climbing on the icy roof again. Just turn a crank and your chimney cleaning troubles disappear.

Sounds to me like the brush is stored at the bottom of the flue. When you crank it up most of the creosote will be on the top of the brush. I think you'd be able to clean and remove the brush using the flue's existing cleanout.
