Thats great! The timing could be better though. With the holidays it's going to be tough to get time to go get it. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive for me each way. Oh well, you can bet I'll get there as soon as I can!

Are you driving there from Michigan? Quite a hike! I thought my 4 hour ride was long. I won't be able to get there until next week. Good luck and have a safe trip. Let me know how it does...with photos!
TonyC - Well I finally got home from picking up the chipper. 18 Hours drive there, 13 back. Got caught in a highway shutdown in PA for 4 1/2 hours. Other than that the trip went well. Also picked up a second chipper for a fellow TBN'er about 30 miles North of me. Now the big problem, how to get a 900 lb chipper off the back of my pickup "twice!" I removed all of the loose pieces, and parts. That should drop it to about 800. Going to try to pick it up in the shipping crate with the front loader.
Ran in to one snag though, no instructions, the assembly seems pretty straight forward, but the photo attachments from DIYguy eariler in the post are a lifesaver.
I'll let you know how it works out, I should have mine together and working before the New Year. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

You're welcome. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The assembly of the chute is the only difficult piece to figure out as it rests on the support and doesn't have a firm connection to the chute. I used really big tiewraps as a safeguard.
Careful not to drop the access panel screws into the unit when pulling the access panels, and adjust the auger drive belt tension as you would any other drive belt.

Thanks again DIYGuy for the photos they really helped. It only took a couple of hours to put together, and get running. I see what you meant about putting the base together. Fortunately I was able to lift the main chipper body with a chain to my backhoe, and it went pretty smoothly. I can share a picture if anyone is interested.
Took it out for it's first field trial this afternoon. Man does this thing work great! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I fed a couple of 4" x 30' Aspens into the unit, and it just gobbled them up like nothing, didn't even make the tractor work. Thats right I did say 30 feet! Just stuffed em in and let it do its thing. Didn't even worry about chunking it into logs, just let it take the whole thing. Smoooth, and quiet. Even my wifes not afraid to use this one like she was with our Troybilt. That one was a joke compared to this! Unfortunately I had to give up after only a 1 1/2' pile of chips, it started raining too hard to stay out, but sure was fun!

Ken you mentioned it didn't come with any instructions. Did that present any problems and why didn't it have an owners manual, etc.? Can the dealer that you bought it from give you one? Was the chipper crated up and if so how big was the crate? One last question, what is the warranty for the chipper?

I would like to know how much it weighs once it is assembled. I know what you said about the boxed crate weight, but have no idea how much the crate weight is.....
I can only guess at over 800 lbs. It requires front weights on the tractor to lift it and even then, If the clutch comes out too fast, the front wheels come up. The units come shipped two to a crate. I picked mine up in 1/2 a crate, the dealer just cut the crate in 1/2. The total weight of the my crate parts was under 50 lbs.
