Chinese Tires on my JD

I hope the quality of the HEMA valve assembly (from Turkey) is better than it appears cause it looks bad!

Yeah, all the non-HST hydraulics on my 2000 JD4300 are from Hema in
Turkey. It seems that most compact JDs in the past 10y use them as
a supplier. I did notice that the 3-pt valve itself was outsourced by Hema
to Danfoss of S Carolina. What goes around comes around.

As for problems, the biggest one is that the painting is so bad that it
easily scrapes off with a screwdriver, which allows excessive corrosion
on the top of the 3-pt cyl housing.

Thats one reason dad got rid of his 2103 JD he traded up. The front axle, tires 2 other major castings on the bottom and a few other things. He liked the tractor but went with an L3130 Kubota he traded for. The tires really got him not a month earlier we had ordered a set of tires for one of the Rolloff trucks at work. They didnt have 10 of that size all the same brand. The dealer pushed a set of Wanli tires on us saying how competitive they were. We had the mounted by the tire company and the truck ran 6 hours around 10 loads of paper waste. When the last load was being dumped the truck was backing down and and we heard a pop and the truck stopped. One of the new steer tires blew out shredding a new rim, 4 of the 5 locking wedges, the brake chamber, and the actual brake linkages. We got the tire made up with a new set of steer tires and the rim wasnt replaced plus the down time of having all the other stuff fixed.
But others have had problems with the out sourced parts. I have a friend that is a diehard Deere man. He bought a new Deere for his hay outfit and after a few ours the front planetary went out. Deere wouldnt honor his waranty because he had an aftermarket loader on it. After a few attempts of going to the dealer to get the bearing it wouldnt fit. The dealer suggested chilling the bearing and heating the bore. That works on a bushing/plain bearing but not a roller bearing. The axle is a Dana-Wuxi. fter many attempts and measuring with my machinist tools we decided to pull the other side down and try it on that side. The bearig almost slipped into place like it should. We measured it and the bores from one side to the other was .048 difference. Deere finally ordered a whole planetary assembly. He sold the tractor and bought a an older 4 wheel drive Deere. The overall fit and finish of his new tractor was poor compared the the older one.

Isn't the 3032 original chassis build in China? The final sheet metal assembly is here only.

As a follow-up to this my original post I've got to gripe just a little more....

The rear hydraulic kit I ordered from Deere for my 3032 is marked "Made in USA" on the outside of the box and contains a valve assembly made in Turkey, quick connects made in Italy, and various other parts without any markings as to country of origin. I hope the quality of the HEMA valve assembly (from Turkey) is better than it appears cause it looks bad!

As my son pointed out maybe it was the cardboard box that was "Made in USA".

I think your son had it right.

As a follow-up to this follow-up...

When assembling the Hema control valve assembly I found one of the mounting holes unusable. It was overdrilled or cast wrong and the bolt that was supposed to go there has nothing to grab on to. There are no threads.

I also found that most of the included fittings were made in China.

Guess I'll be taking everything back apart and calling the dealer to order a replacement valve assembly.

More on this:
My dealer contacted JD and was told that the valve is supposed to be this way and that the instructions that come with the kit need to be updated to reflect that. So JD is recommending that only 3 of the 4 holes in the mounting bracket be used.

I'd sure like to know what's really going on here.

I have had my first and last Titan tires. The sidewalls went out on the front tractor tires after only 2 years and within 1 year the rear tire on one side is full of what they call "Traction Cracks".

My brother who is a tire design engineer said the cracks are due to the fact that they stopped using a chemical in the rubber compound that stops the effect ozone has on the rubber.

I've seen 40 and 50 year old tractors with original tires and hardly a crack. I think they used way more pure rubber in the manufacturing process then than they do now and to me that is the real problem. Too many synthetic compounds that do not hold up to ozone. I've had a pure rubber hose for 25 years that looks real good to this day. Why make something that is going to last if its not going to wear out. The answer found was to let the tire disintegrate.

It's not that I want to buy everything in the USA but I want quality. When I got my last two tractors I immediately took them to the dealer's tire shop and traded the tires in for new Firestones. The small difference in price was worth it.
Not that I have had a bad experiences with Titan but I do think they build a tire to compete with the low-end market and I don't want that. Just my opinion.
