Chinese Tractors By Foton

yes there are several DIFFERENT TRACTORS made in china (probably 6 companies making them there easy) (not to mention someo of the big 3 are now making tractors there too!) Like greg said most common is JINMA brands then there are a few others foton(futian) and the like Jinmas are also producing over 55HP tractors for USA too not just foton. anyhow like others said many tractors of same make with different names on them, (jinmas for example are/were known buy "Mavrick, Nortrac, FARMPRO, FARMBOSS, AGRATRAXX/AGRICAT ect. just to name some of them (note not all of these dealers are still selling JINMAS and some are not in buisness anymore. these were/are more natinally known names probably 100's of small local dealers selling them with different names on the hoods...

I don't know of any really GOOD lists that cross ref the names but JOHNS'S web site has dealer links which also have brands sold by the names ...

This is the type of confusing generality that CabinHoller is trying to get cleared up. If you actually KNOW of a Jinma with a cab in the 60-70 hp power range that he's shopping for - be specific please

Actually there were a few 80 and 100HP KAMAs imported in the past with a Chinese water cooled Duetz engine. Sadly they are not EPA compliant and there is no legal way to import them now (as far as I know anyway). The EPA requirements on these went into effect quite a while ago (I think 1995 or 1996). I am waiting to find out if the Chinese Perkins used in the Foton tractors is in deed EPA certified. Likely is because engines are approved in families and if the engine has been approved before, it could be again with minimal work. We are starting to see EPA certified engines coming from China and factories are changing designs to be able to use those engines. This is not so much because of our needs, but the EU requirements.

I also have found out that equipment king is now importing foton tractors under the name of "Johnson". They are establishing dealerships in the Soutest U.S. They seem like a great deal but I guess only time will tell.

I went yesterday and looked at and bought a Tractor King 704 from Rural King. I plan to pick it up Saturday. Will probably get a 40 hp also. I have 3 to sell a Ford and 2 Belarus well one is sold.
The tractors seemed to have a pretty good fit and finish much better than 5 years back better than my 10 year old Belarus. The cab was small and tight but adequate and they are priced very well the warranty is the problem only 6 months. My Belarus ran for 6 years without any repair then only a starter. Im buying for the 4 wd and lower profile cab with very open glass design things Belarus doesnt have. I think this will be a very good general Farm tractor for rolling and feeding hay and pasture maintenance.

Farm Pro is also offering the 704 and 804 fotons I have some on order due in soon, but I am anxios to know if there are many gaps in the cab? This factory seems to offer very nice fit and finish, at least by Chinese standards. Did the Tractor King have the Perkins engine?

Picked up the tractor Saturday. Still has less than 1 hr use. The only problems is the little fuel door closer thing is broken and lets the door jiggle. The cab is very tight the only in cab noise is the tool box. The cab is tight not a lot of headroom. I may cut the plastic liner to make more room.
The perkins runs great and sounds good with the turbo.
The things I missed moving from Belarus to this tractor is hydraulic pto activation and postion and draft control on a fine touch scale. I like the Belarus for those 2 things.
This is a very good tractor. I looked at Farm pro in Lawrenceburg TN. The tractors were noiser and had dings and minor display damage. Rural King did a better job of preping for sale and were almost 5000 less. My side rail type loader will not fit without a lot of work so I will buy a new matched loader. Rural King has Koyker they said a 6 week wait for the new matched loaders.
Again very happy with the tractor a great deal on a stylish powerful little tractor.
