Looking at some PTO chipper/shredders and need one that will shred palm fronds. We trim a lot of palm trees and wondered if anyone can recommend a good brand or model that will handle them?
thanks
Unfortunately, I don't have any direct experience chipping palm material. I know it's really hard to chip fronds when green and only somewhat easier when dry. This might work or one of the Wallenstein chipper shredders. I would call the maker first and inquire about fronds. Another option is a used stand-alone drum chipper.
I think Brush Bandit has a model with three feed rollers for just such an application , not sure if they offer it in a PTO model . They do make great chippers , I have a 250 XP and it'll pull in anything that's not nailed down !
