I slit some heater hose and put around the top edges on my TroyBilt shredder. I kept getting arms bruised from being brought into contact with the lip of the chute when the machine grabbed and pulled things into it.
Look under the Customization area and look up "craddle" there to see what various folks have done to affix regular shredders to their 3 ph. That works, but if you're buying fresh the best bet would be one that fits on the 3 ph and runs off the PTO. You can get a MacKissic at the local JD dealers for about $1699. Think DR ones are about this same price. Jinma prices may be a couple hundred cheaper. You want one that is reasonably easy to remove the hammers and chipper blade on. I've rebuilt my TroyBilt hammers/chipper 2 to 3 times now. It's a job but not insurmountable.
I do brush piles of big stuff and chip up small stuff. Leave even the small stuff down below until I can get my TroyBilt attached to the 3 ph or get a genuine 3 ph model. Even then, I'll leave the big stuff. Can't see paying for a humongous chipper to chip up the big stuff. Used to use the big stuff for fire wood.
