Hi folks. Before I forget, thanks very much to all of you for your answers to all my many questions.
I've read quite a few messages in the archives on this subject, but I'm just as confused as ever. I'm looking to buy a tractor, and I want to use it to run a snowblower and a chipper. I've been looking exclusively at 20 HP-class tractors until recently. Then I discovered a Mahindra dealer and their 2615 became a real possibility at a reasonable price. I'd still much rather buy the smaller tractor, mainly to save money. But naturally I want to make sure whatever I buy will get the job done.
Sorry for the long lead in: here's the question:
How much chipping can you do with a manual feed chipper and a 20 HP tractor? With a 26 HP tractor?
I've got only ten wooded acres, own a good chainsaw, and heat with wood, so my long-term needs are pretty modest, I'd say, though short term I've got some serious work to do.
Thanks,
Jim
