Don't understand what your saying here??? the tiller is the only what?? that will break up the ground? Probably the most expensive but will do a great job fast.

Tillers work great, but you can use different type of plows, disc, and drags. A combination of things also.

Right , but the tiller is the only one that will work on a pile of dirt as you can't plow drag or disk a dirt pile.

)</font>It's really hard to get good straight rows in the garden if you leave the dirt in a pile. You would need a Harbor freight chinese circular planter with the optional terrace attachment. Make sure you get the one with the pnuematic guage wheels, as they're self leveling.

Tom-

Could you please post a link to that planter? We are finally getting to landscaping our front yard. I have a hard time finding anything on Harbor freight! Is it just me or is their web site very difficult to use? Northern tool seems much better, but they don't have some of the items that Harbor Freight does. Thanks in advance,

Uh er what ??? How did you come up with a reply like this from what I posted?
I'll have to admit you've stumped me with this one as I just don't see any connection between my post and your reply.LOL

I found it, thanks! I also found their upside down tomato planter, and it is on sale for $19.95. Has anyone here used an upside down planter? I'm thinking of it as we have quite a problem with deer (don't people start writing in complaning about me as I don't mean Deere). Anyway, it would be great if we could keep the deer away from the tomatoes. Anybody used them?

Be sure to get their watering system with the drip regulator so you keep the roots moist. Those planters are really neat. They make the tomato plants look like weeping willows. My neighbor has 6 installed on multiple piles of dirt in his garden & get a huge yield every year. Watch for a web special on them as it gets later into the off season.

The only problem with that is I get a bit nervous around regulators. I had a bad experience about 5 years ago and almost lost a finger. Besides, I have a 9 year old that likes to work in the garden.

I THINK THE CIRCULAR PLANTERS ARE VERY SIMILAR TO TILLERS, ESPECIALLY WITH GAGE WHEELS. I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE CHINESE ONES, BUT THE ONES MADE IN INDIA ARE GOOD AT BREAKING UP CLODS OF MANURE AS WELL AS DIRT PILES.
