Choice of 318s.

Ok.
I feel pretty dumb. When I first got my 332 I only had a film camera. I knew I had some photos of it, but couldn't find them after an extensive search. Then......DUH......I have 2 digital cameras so I went out and took a few shots. I'm still set up in winter mode as you can see in the pictures.

In the second set of photos is the big tear down. It seemed I was getting some smoke from the crankcase breather, so I had to tear it down. All that you see was involved in just changing the piston rings. Of course while I was at it I fixed up some other stuff.

As not to steal this thread away from the original subject, I'll leave it at that.
Also, I know that I probably belong in the garden tractor section, but I feel so much more at home here in the JD section. I guess I'll have to get that 2210 so I'm sure I belong here!

Rob, If you buy a 318 you will love it. I , bought a 318 new back in 1987, And I just traded it in this year on a 1993 Ford 1220 4wd. The 318 was and will always be the best Garden tractor i have or will ever own. The prices sound in the ball park, The dealer gave me $1900.00 for mine on trade in and sold it for $2700.00 within a couple days of when we traded it in.

I've had a 318 for a long time with very little problems. Had to put a carb kit on it once. The only time in the shop. Great machine. I use it to mow and plow snow. Works great. I want to trade up to get a loader and maybe a hoe. May keep the 318 to mow depending how big I go with a tractor. I don't really want two machines. I was hoping mine would be worth $3000 but by some of the posts I will only get $2000 on trade. If thats the size renge you want you won't go wrong with a 318.

SUPERNUG, When I traded my 318 in I only got $1900.00 in on trade The tractor had a 48" mid -mower and front hydralic blade on it when i traded it in with 435 hours on it and it looked like new.
