I searched TBN for the following information but could never find the answer so here it is:

FYI for all you L3130 owners:

The outside width of your tread with Ag tires on the widest wheel setting in between 62"-63" inches. If you want a box blade to cover your rear tracks a 60" BB is not sufficent, go for a 65" or 72" wide box blade. I found this out the hard way....

Hi caylor.

Yup. I found out the hard way, too. I have a L3130 with industrial tires. I bought a Bush Hog SBX72" box blade. I didnt like the way it performed. It stuck out TOO far. So I bought a used Land Pride BB, 66". I really like this one better.

Maybe it relates to the work Im trying to do...
Im leveling my creek banks.

Personally, I like a Box Blade that just covers the tire tracks.
OBTW, my FEL is 66" wide. I really like that combination of FEL and BB being the same width.

thanks for your posting.

Deere isn't much better at posting specs. A chart listing various tire options and approximate widths min/max.

I have the Woods HB 65 and it just covers the tracks and works fine. It depends on what you want but If I was buying one today it would be 72".

forgot.....I have industrial tires set at the widest setting.

How do I know if my tires are at the widest setting? I have R4 tires on my L3130 and the width of my tire track is 66 inches wide. Is this set to the widest setting or is there a wider setting. I have a 63" wide snow blower and it does not cover my tracks. Steve

If you look at the rear rims you will see some tabs. You can bolt them on the inside or outside to change the offset a little.

Thanks, I'll have to take a look for those tabs.

To the outside of my tires , it's approx. 72 inches . they are set at their widest setting . If you look at page 62 of the owners manual it will give You an idea of all the possible settings for Your tires . Chances are You are on the middle seating of your rims . The width at each setting is : 52.2, 53.5 ,and57.7 at the center of the rim . Hope this was a bit of help. John

speaking of the tire settings, besides going through rows of crops, why would a guy want to change the width of his tire settings?

is the factory setting the best or should they be set at the wide setting for stability and left there?

opinions?

thanks!
