Amsoil is a bit pricey and then when I look at their menu or anybody's menu they never seem to mention, this grease is specially formulated to grease equipment loader pins..... Bearing & Chassis Grease - AMSOIL

The menu means nothing IMHO. Specs are what really matters. I can tell you my grease is " for pins and bushings" "heavy duty" "resists washout", if the specs don't support it its just marketing hype. Water washout is very important if you store outside, operate in the rain, or just like pressure washing your equipment. Bet you will find that the Amsoil grease stays put quite a bit longer, so the extra cost is not a big issue. If you are the "grease every 10 hrs" type of guy, no matter the actual need, then I can see Amsoil getting pricey.

That being said if you are hard on your machine, and it experiences a lot of shock loads, The Paragon 3000 grease is hard to beat, if you can find it. 5% moly, so it's a stainer. Not overly compatible with other greases IIRC, so if you start, you keep at it with the same grease.

For me, since I don't run an excavator business, the Amsoil GC has got excellent specs for a non-moly grease, it actually beats quite a few moly greases for load ratings and weld loads, without the moly.... Bearing friendly, a little less messy. If anyone knows of a non-moly grease with better overall specs than the Amsoil GC, I would love to hear about it. Until then I will keep at it. 35lbs pail will last a while, so you have time ;)

That's $10 canadian I take it, what's that in US $, currently? I got a 10-pack on amazon for $50, they still have that pricing on there.

About $7.37 USD.

Shipping form Amazon.com (vice .ca) usually isn't worthwhile, especially right now when I can't cross the border to pick up packages.

I haven't used the green, but I believe the red is also lithium based but has a higher temp rating. It's highly rated as the best grease for trailer bearings and is all I use for all my needs. I have over 17 years on my mower deck spindles and over 250K miles on my vehicle u-joints. I've been using Mystik JT-6 red grease that I got from Tractor supply. They've quit carrying it and now carry Rotella HD. It might not be the best grease for loader arms and such, but if I had to pick one grease, I'd choose the one that works best for the more demanding application.

Well now you do have to pick one, for pins, splines and U-joints, I'm calling you out, I have 3 kings and a deuce.........

Rotella HD is "fine" for loader pins. Weld point load is 315, which is average, and same as Mystik JT-6. JT-6 high temp #2 is better for bearings (drop point is significantly higher).

Shell is stingy on specs, so I would just consider them for undemanding applications. At $4.39 can per tube (sale price) the Rotella is a decent value

Ouch $12.00/grease cartridge, that could add up quick with a couple tractors + equipment, I hope it last on FEL pins.

$8.50 a tube is the preferred price, you can get a membership for like 15$ that lasts 6 months, it will get you the preferred price. That's what I did, got a 35lb pail of GC, a bottle of chainsaw oil and a bottle of Saber 100:1 2 stroke, and I am set for a while :)

PS I am not an Amsoil zealot, but there are a few products they make that although expensive, are still a good value (grease, 2 stroke oil, gear oil to name a few).
