I have the 14 in Dewalt metal cutting saw. Does an excellent job. I also have the 8 in Milwaukee metal cutting saw.

I have a 10" Hitachi that I bought new at Lowes 5 years ago. It has cut a ton of 3/4 hardwood floor, vinyl floor, PVC pipe, 2X4, 2X6, etc. And been loaned out to multiple friends. Still on original blade and I have no complaints. Only cost about $129 I think. Also have an 18 volt Hitachi Drill Set about the same age with no problems.

I have a 14 inch milwaukee chop saw. It is a nice saw and have not had any problems with it!

I have the 14" Hitachi chop saw and I have cut alot of stuff with it with no complaints.

I believe that you will be satisfied with any better quality tool, such as Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Hitachi, etc.. You get what you pay for with Harbor Freight.

I know that you don't want to consider HF, but be aware that they have three different qualities of their chop saw. I bought the best one and once I installed a brand name blade, it works great.

Yeah there's two different kids of chop saws.
A cut off saw also referred to as a chop saw for cutting metal most commonly using an abrasive blade. Then there is a miter saw also referred to as a chop saw for cutting wood, plastics, aluminum extrusions and using a toothed blade.
They do make cut off saws for cutting metal that have toothed blades but they are pricey.
Are you going to use it every day to make money with or just occasionally at the shop?
Depending on how much you can save consider the Harbor freight saw and buy the extended warranty.
