you just cant trade the chop saw for things like angle and tubeing. conduit etc.

ya you COULD cut them with the torch but its going tocome out a LOT better with the chop saw.

i use my gas axe for cutting plate and or mostly rusty bolts.

any thick heavy stuff if its less than 4x6 i put it in the horzontal bandsaw!

i had it in my head to buy a nice milwalkee chop saw last year for my tractor projects. I got to thinking for the few hundred it will cost I wish there was another way. Well I had a really nice delta compound miter saw 10" that I never use any more. I looked and looked and found some 10" abrasive blades at my local contractor supply and the darn thing works pretty good, when i need to use it, granted the blade guard is Poly but it works

Take it easy on that miter saw. I've seen a few destroyed this way. They are not built to handle the stress and heat of cutting metal.

reminds me of the metal cutting blades for a circular saw when working on aluminum..
