Sweet tractor, love my L4240..lots of power, very strong loader..I added a tooth-bar and thumb to my bucket ,very handy.Enjoy:thumbsup:

I was going to go with the heavy duty bucket but most of the people selling tooth bars usually say if you have a bolt on edge you need to call them (or something like that). Since I'll never weld on hooks because any lifting I do will be with the Case or the pallet forks and Brady didn't have the HD in stock I got the standard bucket and will need to be finding a tooth bar that uses the same teeth as the BH.

That'll do you just fine.
Usually with the HD buckets you're giving up some capacity.
I've dug/moved about 100 yards of earth so far with my "light material" bucket and bolt-on toothbar, and have had it heaping with just about every material imaginable, and it's holding up fine.

Agreed, I have had/have both and haven't bent or damaged either kind yet.

I'm lucky enough to have a Case 580k backhoe so if I need to move large quantities of dirt (or anything else) I'll use that. So extra bucket capacity really wasn't something I thought about. My main uses are snow blowing in the winter, pulling logs for firewood in the summer, and doing work to the driveway like cleaning ditches and running a boxblade. Because I'll be running it the hills around trees I didn't get a cab.

I have lots of pictures of the garage being built. I don't know if I'll finish it this year (may just have Tyvek siding and no windows). We'll see how the money holds out.

I did not know that you keep the fel on at the same time as the front mount snowblower subframe. Is there enough room for the fel to be functional?

It was shipped with the frame attached and the front blower strapped into the bucket. The FEL is fully functional but the grill guard can't be in place and the subframe reduces the ground clearance by a lot. I have since removed the subframe and installed the grill guard. The pictures were taken the day I got it before I had a chance to remove it.

congratulations. you dog. just kidding. heck I'll have to wait at least another year before I can start my new building. My wife wouldn't understand that my tractor doesn't like the shed with no sides. It needs a warm place in the winter and full shade in the summer, and a tv, recliner, A/C. etc... she just doesn't get it.

Doall, you are making me appreciate my wife that much more. When I was trying to figure the best way to sell her on a tractor, she beat me to the punch and told me I need to dump these mowing guys who are too busy to mow when we think we need it and buy our own tractor.

Then I was doing the math to persuade her a new tractor was a better investment than buying a used one what with the warranty and the 0% financing and she told me she would prefer I get the new one; before I could even complete my presentation on the issue.

When I told her it would be delivered at the end of the week, she said we need a new shed for it and we need it to be closed on at least three sides so people can't see it from the street and be tempted to come steal it.

I can't even put up a fight to get what I want. She beats me to it! :cool2:
