<font color="blue"> topped it off with my wife's award winning (truly) apple pie

My wife's no slouch in the apple pie baking department. At least Not in my dads eyes.
He was always hinting around for her to bake him an apple pie.
Apparently My moms apple pies didn't hold a candle to hers. L O L.

You know how little things can affect you for a long time; maybe even a lifetime. Many, many years ago, when we were first married, my wife made an apple pie, but being young and inexperienced at the time, she didn't understand why all the pie filling ran out of the pan all over the oven. She had inadvertently used self-rising flour to make her pie crust. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Now she's made lots of pies, and some pretty good ones, too, but she's never used anything but store bought, frozen pie crusts since that first pie. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My wife baked a lemon pie one time soon after we were married in 1964. She forgot to bake the crust first.
Just laid out the raw dough in the pie plate & poured in the lemon filling and stuck it in the oven.
We celebrated our 41 first wedding anniversary yesterday.

She's the girl I met the night of her senior prom 5/11/1963
The guy that was going to take her stood her up at the last minute so I took her.
His loss my gain.

Congratulations, LB. You've just been married about 4 months and 2 days longer than we have.
