The in-laws are BIG on getting lists for birthday and Christmas gifts. Well, Christmas is approaching and my list is overdue :)

So .... What the heck do I need or want? If you were asked what gift(s) you would like (trying not to be too expensive) what would you choose?

I'm not very good at such things myself; not much imagination. But of course I could always use a gift card for Home Depot, Tractor Supply Co., Lowe's, or such.

Yes, gift cards are always handy.

They do almost all of their shopping online, so I usually provide links along with the ideas.

I agree with Bird. I'm hard to buy for because I don't really want anything. Gift card is good. That way when I do need something I can use it to buy it. Other than a card, clothes are a second choice.

I'm on the gift card bandwagon. HD, Lowes-project money. TSC always gets used, too.

A 3 yr subscription to Mother Jones is not expensive. :D

Seriously, I'd try to think of some tool or useful thing to use around home.

For me, I really do not care for the gift cards. What they say, I feel, is that the person doesn't care enough about me to figure out what I want or need and to go shopping for it. Yes, I know they save time, energy, and perhaps money; but they are wayyyy to impersonal for me.
Now for me this year, perhaps a supply of a can or three of "Fluid Film", some good leather work gloves, Dremel tool implements, and on and on..........life is good....God bless......Dennis

For years I HATED the Christmas season... anything I want I buy, and it really was tough pretending gratitude for something which would sit forgotten in a drawer.

A few years ago my family stopped exchanging gifts; instead we pick a list off a tree at church, and buy gifts for a needy family. We get together on the second Sunday in December so the gifts wil be under the tree for Christmas... and I look forward to the holiday more than I have in decades.

I'm with ya'. Other than gifts for my wife and daughter, I would much prefer to just get the extended family together for dinner. Oh well .. that's not going to happen anytime soon :)

So far, on my list, I have a "Big Berkey Water Filter", a dehumidifier for my gun safe and a few clothing items. Frankly, I can do these things for myself but they just LOVE the gifting thing. What's a man to do? lol
