christmas snow

Hi Rob!!
Sure is a sweet looking house...lot of windows...must be very "airy" inside!!!

So, what is X10 for us ignorant country boys?

X10 is a cheap, inexpensive, yet reliable way to automate your home. A basic starter kit would include a table top controller and a few lamp modules(for about $45.00). It uses a signal that is sent through your home electrical wiring. All of the modules are addressable. For example, you could put some of those nice candle lights in some of the windows in your house. Plug them into X10 modules. Set all of the modules to the same address. Then sit in your living room and push one button on your table top controller and they all would come on at the same time. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You can get much more complicated than that, as there are also; appliance modules, outlets, switches, radio frequency wireless controllers, timers and on and on. It really is only limited to your imagination and wallet /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

How does this relate to tractors(I'm bringing it back to the snow and tractor subject now)? You could buy a heavy duty appliance module and hook your engine heater to it and start warming up your engine without leaving your house.

We had about 4 inches of snow on Christmas day in Maryland. Here’s a shot of the house while it was still snowing. I was standing in our fron pasture

A second shot of our Kids (newf's) enjoying the snow no Christmas day. We were actually able to get them to sit for 30 seconds.

Here are some shots of the house and barn (and me) on Christmas afternoon after it quit snowing. We only got 6" or so where I am in WV - nothing compared to you folks farther north.

Morning, Rob. Was this picture taken facing south? The reason I ask is the snow that's between the 2 dormers looks like it could cause problems if it sits there too long. I assume the roof was covered with iceguard membrane?

My inlaws used to live in a townhouse that had a similar roof configuration and they were always raking snow off this area of the roof to prevent water damage to the interior vaulted ceiling.
