Thinking of planting a little xmas tree farm (Am I nuts)
MIL has 25 acre field JD 755 w PH&Bushhog
local farmer hays it (for the hay only) thought I could use a little strip
what does it take 5 years?? full grown ready to harvest.
plant 100 every year ??
where do you buy from??

contact you local forestry service or you state forestry service. seedlings are cheap. Im not sure but most trees are at least 8 years old.

I use a nursery in PA for some of my seedlings. PikesPeak nursery...ask for Marcy. Most young seedlings will take at least 6-8 years. Once they get fully rooted you can expect maybe about a foot per year (depends on the species you plant).
